Please join us in this welcoming Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for We Rock the Spectrum - Shorewood in celebrating their Grand Opening of their new location as well as their recent membership to the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce!
About "We Rock the Spectrum - Shorewood"
Amy and James Allen are the new owners of We Rock the Spectrum – Shorewood. The pair have been married for 24 years and have adopted four amazing kids from Russia and they also have three grandkids.
Their youngest daughter, Payton, was diagnosed with autism when she was 2 and a half years old. Payton is the youngest of the four kids and is currently in the transition program in her school district. Payton is the drive behind opening this gym and she will be active in running it with them as well as helping run summer camps and Payton would also like to hopefully teach an art class at We Rock.
Amy ran an in-home daycare for 9 years, and in her early 40’s decided to go back to school to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. She is currently working with kids in Early Intervention. Amy’s passion has always been helping kids and families navigate all that comes with kids with special needs. She wants to be a resource for the community because she knows how hard it is to navigate all that goes with raising kids as well as raising kids with special needs. She wishes she had this amazing resource when her kids were younger.
The Allens are very excited to get started on their We Rock the Spectrum franchise journey, meet more of the Shorewood community, and learn from everyone!
